I'm completely new ta all this (the forum that is not woodworking) I need your help I've just gotten an old elektra beckum hc260e I know very little about. It's the same as Kevin's with the side mounted motor. It seems in good shape considering its age it was sitting in an old shed with a few dogs (the smell not good ) it needs a good clean and some tlc. Any advice you can give me eg blade set up, cleaning, belts, etc would be greatly accepted as I said I know very little about any of this. Thanks for having a lookModeratorHave a look at thisAs for blades try Ian at Tuffsaws great service and good bladesEdited By Derek Lane on 12:27:24Edited By Derek Lane on 12:28:47Derek, it's a planer thicknesser. There easy enough to set up and maintain. Click to go to a page of instruction manuals for the HC260, have a look and download the one you need as it will give you help in setting up and maintaing your machine.

The HC design used in this Elektra Beckum 260C has been around for some years in various guises, and as such it is tried, tested and even copied. The Elektra Beckum HC 260 is one of the classic jointer-planer combinations, and its basic design can be seen in many currently available machines. Its spiritual successor is the Metabo HC 260, which replaced the original after Metabo took over Elektra Beckum in the early 2000s.Another machine that is extremely similar is the Record Power PT260. There are several versions of the HC 260, which.
